KWH Logistics Supports Efforts to Protect the Baltic Sea

Today, 27 August, marks Baltic Sea Day. KWH Logistics supports the valuable work to protect our unique sea for future generations.

The Baltic Sea is present in KWH Logistics’ everyday work. It connects ports, Finnish industry and international markets. We want to do our part to ensure that the Baltic Sea remains vibrant for generations to come.

Baltic Sea Day reminds us of the uniqueness of our shared sea and of the fact that its future depends on the choices we make today. On Baltic Sea Day, we show our support for the John Nurminen Foundation’s work for the Baltic Sea. Through our donation, we are helping to support valuable efforts to preserve marine biodiversity and the cultural heritage of the sea.

“ The Baltic Sea is an important part of our operating environment, but at the same time it is a unique marine area whose wellbeing affects us all. We want to support concrete work to protect the Baltic Sea and preserve its valuable cultural heritage,” says Joakim Laxåback, Business Director and CEO of KWH Logistics Group.

Baltic Sea Day is celebrated annually on the last Thursday of August.

The John Nurminen Foundation’s mission is to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage for future generations. Through its projects, the Foundation improves the state of the Baltic Sea by reducing the nutrient load and environmental problems affecting it, such as eutrophication and biodiversity loss.
