Even demanding cargoes

Handling of the wind power plant components places special demands on staff and equipment alike. One of the largest vessels to ever visit the Port of Vaasa was 38 000 DWT and 190 metre long Tian Zhen, it carried 72 wind power plant components for wind power plants in the south of Finland. Even in difficult projects like this, lifting and moving goes smoothly thanks to Blomberg Stevedoring’s skilled staff who have learned to handle even the most demanding cargoes.

Latest investment

In recent years we have heavily invested in equipment for handling complex wind turbine projects. Most recent machinery was when Blomberg Stevedoring acquired a heavy Liebherr LHM 600 harbour crane for the Port of Vaskiluoto in Vaasa. The newly built crane has a lifting capacity of 208 tonnes, making it one of the largest harbour cranes in Finland and at the same time in the northern Baltic Sea. With the acquisition of this crane, the capacity of the lifting operations performed in the Port of Vaasa will be doubled. As a tandem lift loads of up to almost 300 tons can be lifted.
